Working on the SCX30 Is INSANE… These Parts Are TINY 😵 (Axial Micro RC Crawler)

The SCX30 project hit a snag… and I finally figured out why.

This tiny crawler was experiencing a hitch/hangup in the drivetrain that just didn’t feel right while driving, so I decided it was time to tear into the transmission and find out what was really going on.

And wow… working on something this small is no joke 😳

The parts inside this rig are TINY, which makes diagnosing and working on it way harder than a normal crawler build. But after taking everything apart and checking through the drivetrain, I was finally able to confirm the issue was actually inside the transmission itself.

That explains the rough feeling and weird binding I was experiencing.

Huge shoutout to Horizon as well—after confirming the problem, they got a replacement transmission sent out ASAP, which is awesome support.

So this isn’t the end of the SCX30 saga…

👉 and finally taking this tiny rig out onto the rocks where it belongs 😈

This thing is getting VERY close to being an absolute weapon on the rocks.
