When Ryan and I decided to start sailing across oceans, we figured we needed a satellite communications solution that allowed us to do voice calls. At that time, we only had a Garmin InReach, and looked at all the other alternatives.
In this video, we explore all our options, starting with SSB, satellite tracker and satellite phones, all the way to Starlink.
We personally settled on the Iridium Go that we purchased through Predict Wind, which we found to be the simplest and most economically efficient solution for us.
