Ragnarok Origin - Damage Optimization: Owl Baron Card Combination Strategies 🦉💛🖤🎩

Today I am comparing cards on Royal Guard in Ragnarok Origin. Usually Owl Baron, Mantis, and Aether Orc Archer Cards are the recommended setup on ASPD based characters, and in this video I want to compare the impact of having multiple Owl Baron cards on the Damage output (DPS).

This test is done by calculating average DPS of 10x trials in each setup, to minimize outliers.

1st test
In the first test, I am doing a baseline setup of L2 Owl Baron MVP + L3 Owl Baron Illusion. This test produced 22 billions DPS.

2nd test
L2 Owl Baron MVP + L3 Owl Baron Illusion + L1 Owl Baron MVP, this produced a slightly increased 22.3 billions DPS.

3rd test
L3 Owl Baron MVP + L3 Owl Baron Illusion, this produced 23.26 billions DPS.
This result surprises me, because it gives higher DPS compared to the 2nd test, given 2nd test Owl Baron MVP % trigger chance is higher (16%+12%), while the 3rd test is 21%. Does it mean stacking multiple same cards resulted in diminishing returns?

4th test
Since by upgrading Owl Baron MVP to L3, we would have extra space for the other card, I put Aether Orc Archer card in that extra slot. This produced 24.8 billions DPS.

5th test
I wanted to try if having Owl Baron Illusion actually resulted in diminishing returns as well. This test used L3 Owl Baron MVP + Aether Orc Archer, produced 20.6 billion DPS. It appears that diminishing returns didn't apply to this test, which likely because the synergy between different card types (Owl Baron MVP and Illusion) avoids such an effect.

Concluding this review, stacking identical cards may hint at diminishing returns, while diversifying card types (Owl Baron Illusion + MVP + other cards) could optimize DPS more effectively in DPS characters. This could also hint that different Owl Baron Cards have separate procs, which can't overlap or not additive probabilities.
