Stena Drilling - New Life for Stena Don

We recently upgraded semi-submersible drilling unit #StenaDon with the installation of an 8-point mooring system, allowing operations either using Dynamic Positioning (DP) or with anchors in water depths now ranging from 70 m to 650 m.

In addition, the available deck space and variable deck load (VDL) have been increased, as well as an increase in POB and lifeboat capacity.

Lastly, Stena Don has been re-flagged to the British Flag, and is now registered in #Aberdeen.

All upgrade work was completed safely at #Damen Shipyards Group in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from October 2018 to March 2019.

This new video highlights all the major upgrades and was filmed by #UrbaneMedia whilst the unit was in CCB - Coast Center Base in Bergen, Norway; undergoing final preparations for its current drilling campaign.
