The Chernobyl Graphite Claw Isotope Identification
In this video, I use a radioisotope identifier to look at the predominant gamma-emitting isotope found inside the claw. Not surprisingly, it's Cs-137. Cesium 137 is a fission product and is widely found in the environmental samples taken inside the zone around the Chernobyl plant. Cs-137 has a half-life of around 30 years so it will be around for a long time.
