The Egyptian Thing | The Syndicate | Garage Band 1965

The Egyptian Thing by The Syndicate was recorded in Hollywood at Fidelity Recording in 1965 and then later released as a 45 by Dot Records in December 1965. Written by member, Jim Kobzeff, The Egyptian Thing is a powerful 1960s garage rock and roll blast that characterizes the uncompromising fury that has made garage band songs such a phenomenon.

The Syndicate, a 60s rock and roll garage band from Southern California, performed in 1965 and 1966. Originally formed just for the fun of it, The Syndicate practiced in a garage to hone their hot-wired rock’n’roll and R&B style of music until they felt ready to perform and eventually became one of the most popular 60s garage bands in Orange County.

The Syndicate was one of the garage rock bands featured by Mike Stax in his “Ugly Things” magazine, Spring/Summer 2012, and later had all eight of their original garage rock songs released on a vinyl record album by Break-A-Way-Records in November 2013.

The Syndicate:
Jim Kobzeff, Rhythm guitar, song contributor.
Bill Patapoff, Bass guitar and vocals.
Bill Rash, Lead vocals, keyboards, harmonica, trumpet, song contributor.
Rick "Cronin", Lead guitarist, vocals.
Bob Bourbon, Drummer.
