2008 Winter Solstice Fairbanks Alaska

The 2008 winter solstice as seen by the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner ArcticCam. Images were captured at a rate of about 4 images per minute for entire shortest day of the year. The playback of the over 5000 images of the 24 hour period takes 3 minutes. The moon, the sun and Jupiter all are seen by the unblinking eye of the ArcticCam. For more great music by Lacy J Dalton. Note the faulty street light on the right side flashing on and off almost in time with the music. From 0:40 through 0:49 the video capture of a cloud rushing toward the Moon that is about to appear. This may be a reponse to an "Air Tide"
