It's Gaudete Sunday—which means it's time for us to rejoice in anticipation of the Lord.
But, it's often difficult for us to find time this season to experience this joy that God wants us to have.
In the midst of our busyness, God wants us to stop and realize that he is enough for us.
We don't need everything else. We need to prioritize him.
Fr. Josh Johnson calls our attention to the Blessed Mother's journey to Bethlehem. She was uncertain about the journey, but she couldn't control her circumstances, and she didn't try. She changed her interior attitude and prepared herself for the coming of her son.
Make journaling a priority this week.
Sit in silence, and let Jesus show you that he is enough for you.
To go even deeper into the ideas presented in this video, use the Rejoice! Advent Meditations with Mary Journal (only $10 plus shipping).
The Journal will follow along with the videos and offers an opportunity for you to encounter Mary in the quiet of your heart.
Each day, in a few short pages, this journal provides you with aids to help guide your prayer:
1. A word - Focus on a single word each day to draw out the details, the specifics of who Our Lady is.
2. A reflection - Learn more about Mary, the culture in which she was raised, and the world in which she lived.
3. A Psalm - Each day, you’re given a Psalm to pray (just as Mary herself would have prayed) to help you enter into prayer.
4. A reading - In reading Scripture, you find the Word of God, bringing you closer to Mary, who carried the Word in her body.
5. A prompt - Space is provided each day to journal. Record how the Lord is speaking to you this Advent.
