Moab To Potash To Schafer To Visitor Center To Gemini Bridges

This is a complete video taken March 9, 2014 of a popular route around Moab, especially up Shafer Canyon Road which has steep switchbacks. We are on street legal dirt bikes Our posse (Mike, Russ and Todd) consists of 2 Suzuki DRZ400s and a KTM 450EXC and this is the first time for two of us to visit the Moab area. You might find it boring, but I would have liked to have seen this myself before I came to Moab for the first time as it helps show the area and how to get around. Besides, I needed to test the duration and quality of the cameras, as I want to document, with videos, our trip around the White Rim Road planned for the next day. I include a map of the loop and we ride clockwise starting at the Super 8 Moab and heading west on Potash Road just North of town. It is in the 40's when we leave, and although I have 3 layers on, it gets cold with the wind chill from riding at 55mph, until we enter the National Park. I have two cams on my helmet. The one pointing forward, which takes the best video, is a TCL SV200 (which is sold as a Coleman Conquest in the US now). The aft cam is an low end Emerson Action Cam. It fell off and was recovered. The TCL battery only lasted two hours , so the last twenty minutes of this video is pointing backwards. The Emerson does not like the vibration from the engine. Put it on bicycles or something.

Anyway, pardon my banter. My hearing is bad from Vietnam, but my buddies say there is a high pitched whine on the videos. If its still there after uploading to youtube, turn your volume down and just read my notes as they appear. I hope you enjoy the ride with us!
