After studying in Najaf, he was the only cleric at the time to purposely immigrate to the United States in order to cultivate a community and build a mosque. Dealing with American-born Shia Muslims - many of whom were cultural and took on Christian-like religious tendencies - this is the story of perhaps one of the most influential Shia Muslim clerics in American history.
