Dignity In Dying Alone

The prospect of dying alone is a source of stress for an increasing number of the elderly in Singapore, who live on their own. For those without next-of-kin, Love & Unity Volunteers Establishment, or LUVE, provides free funeral services. LUVE has helped to send-off an average of 30 elderly each year.

Started in 1986 by funeral director Tommy Yu, LUVE also organises weekly activities to encourage the elderly to socialise with others in their community.
