The HIDDEN COSTS of FLO BY MOEN vs PHYN PLUS

Breaking out all the cost differences between Flo by Moen and Phyn Plus. For several videos I’ve mentioned an upcoming video on Flo by Moen vs Phyn Plus. However, one big difference is the cost--going all in on a smart water monitor and shutoff system is more than just buying the device itself. After installing and seeing the differences in behavior between both these systems, there are some significant points that, as a user, would be better to know upfront. Also note, these differences apply to ALL smart water monitor and shutoff systems currently on the market, not just Flo and Phyn.

Because comparing these two devices is such a lengthy topic, I’ve broken the cost breakdown out into its own video and will point to it in the upcoming comparison video on Phyn Plus vs Flo by Moen.

All observations and opinions are my own--this is what I would have liked to know before going down the road of purchasing a smart water monitor and hope it serves you in choosing the best system for your situation.

One of the important things to remember is that these units are not just nice to have or a convenience. When you have a water loss, they can take control of a bad situation and make it less of an issue. There’s no getting around there will be some water damage, but it will not be as bad because you now have the ability to shut it off manually or to have the system work automatically without you even knowing about an event.

It’s also important to know that this smart water technology is newer to the market. It may have been in testing for years, but production and real world use may be different than designed. They are also updating the AI and design of the units. It will only get better from here!
