A more in depth look at ThruLines™ from Ancestry.com - is it accurate?

This video is a fairly in depth look at ThruLines™ accuracy. There are some amazing benefits, some obvious flaws, some things that show up that may or may not be right.

I look at how tell from a first glance if the ThruLines™ has value or not in your research, what to look for, warning flags and flags that say you may have hit the mother-lode of information.

I look at my ThruLines™ results from close relative to the most distant relatives and discuss the accuracy of each.

Overall i feel that 40% of the time I get some GREAT new information that I should be able to add to my tree with very directed research to prove the nodes. I found that 40% of the time the ThruLines™ connected me to adoptive families (of which i have several LOL, and 20% of the time it had potential useful information that may prove out or may be incorrect.

I did notice that that whlie the online trees for one person in my tree are 100% WRONG, ThruLines™ did NOT propagate this mistake!

That was impressive!

On the same token, although my mother has taken the DNA test and is connected on my tree, SHE didnt show up on ThruLines™ but my fathers wife (who i have not kinship to) showed up as a potential mother?

uh, oops! lol So ThruLines™ is a GREAT tools, an Amazing tool! but it is that, a tool in the toolbox for us to use.
