Building Simple Pump Rainwater Collection System (in a thunderstorm)! | Off Grid Cabin

I will show you how I got running water at the off grid cabin in the woods by using some left over PVC pipe, some pipe fittings, and a discarded water tank or tot from a farmer who no longer had a use for it. The full Season: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwj3sDjjGtJqR8ySzZkNbagkaXYSBwnGB

I will show you how to make a diy rainwater collection system from start to finish. This is a super easy way to collect rainwater for gray water use, such as washing dishes, or hands, to watering the garden.

Collecting rainwater is not super complicated, but there are for sure some areas that most people will struggle with. First you need something big enough to catch the water, keep it bug free. You also need a way to keep rain water from getting full of leaves and debris so it doesn't clog up your hose. I also used a pump system to move the water from an old RV.

We'll use cedar, pine, ash, maple, and whatever else we can scrounge up from the 30 acres around us. The aim is to avoid using as much store bought material as possible and keep the budget reasonably low.

Originally we set a budget of for the off grid cabin at $1000, but that included the use of a frame from an old camper trailer. As we build, the budget will remain flexible in effort to produce a cabin that we are proud of and one that will last a long while, be comfortable, and sleep real human beings.
