A PERFECT CIRCLE - First Reaction to JUDITH (Maynard project)

Maynard says on the commentary that this song is inspired by his mother and her struggle with her health. She continued to hold to her faith in Christ even as she became weaker and passed on. In his opinion, those that came to visit her were hypocrites because their words were empty.
He's challenging Evangelical Christianity's conception of a God who loves us yet would allow us to suffer and offer no recourse.
He's talking to his Mum, and his anger is directed at her and her blind faith in spite of her ailing health. He's infuriated that she clings to her faith and cannot understand why she can't see the fallacy behind her illusions.
