STORY BEHIND THE SONG
This is the first song I began to write for my 2023 Psalms Project. There are few things I enjoy in music more than sitting down in front of a piano with my Bible open. That was how I began writing this beloved Psalm on a cold January morning in 2022.

The Hebrew word "Shaddai" is usually translated "Almighty" in English and may have its roots in the ancient Akkadian word for "mountain". The image of a mountain is strong and immovable. Even so, the Bible says, "the mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD." (Ps 97:5)

Therefore, El Shaddai, or "God Almighty", could possibly mean "God of the Mountain". According to Psalm 91, whoever dwells in the shelter of the Almighty God will rest in the protection of His shadow. Our Heavenly Father is all-together mighty. Everything else in creation bows to Him, no contest. It's in HIM that we place all our trust.
