Make Your Own Walker
Learn how to make your own walker from PVC pipe and other parts available at any hardware store.
The fastener is a type of cotter pin, hitch pin is another name. Here is a picture:

You can get them at Home Depot in the aisle where the screws/nails are.
Here's where I got the wheels (it's the only place I found them after lots and lots of googling):
surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=1-3300&catname=wheels
Alternatively, you might be able to steal some from a toy. The first walker I made I took the wheels from a toy lawnmower. For the wheels that I got from the site above, I used 1/4inch bolts to bolt to the pvc. The hole in the wheel is larger, so at first I tried 1/2 inch bolts, but they made the walker too heavy. So instead, to make the 1/4 inch bolts work, I used a washer to prevent the bolt from passing through the hole in the wheel. Then, I've tried several different things to use as a bushing. I think what worked best was using a smaller tube the 1/4inch bolt fit into and then using duct tape around the tube to fill in the gap between the tube and the wheel hole. Hopefully this makes sense.
If you happen to make a walker, I'd love for you to send me pictures. I'd post them on my website... jenmadit.com.
