Press F: How a Failed Cutscene Became One of Gaming’s Greatest Memes

We all love watching people fail.

Whether it's seeing someone slip and fall, or watching a CS:GO pro whiff an AWP shot, the only thing we love more than watching people succeed at incredible things is watching them screw up basic human tasks.

We love it so much, we even created a meme to celebrate that failure.

Press F.

F, Fs in the Chat, or Press F is one of gaming's most everlasting, beloved and widespread memes. It's what Twitch chat spams when XQC dies in Minecraft. It's the wall of Fs that show up when a player walks into their own molly.

And it all started with one stupid, broken cutscene from a decade-old video game.
