Taliban threat remains in Afghanistan as forces prepare to go solo

America's longest war took a decisive step towards closure as the US left the airbase that for 20 years has been the heart of American operations against the Taliban.

Sky's Alex Crawford takes to Bagram as she returns to a country looking to survive on its own as anxiety continues on if the forces of Afghanistan are enough to cope with the threat or will the Taliban take more and more control of the nation once more.

The total UK commitment to Afghanistan had remained consistently around 1,100 personnel, the third largest behind the United States and Germany.
