The First UK Amstrad Group Meet-Up Was Brilliant!

I went along to the first UK Amstrad Group meet-up at Ottershaw Village Hall for a quick look around.

This was a private ticketed event for Amstrad fans, collectors, repairers and retro computing people, with machines to play, bits for sale, a high-score challenge, a machine of the show prize, and a room full of people who knew exactly why a heavy old video camera plugged into an Amstrad was worth stopping to look at.

There was also a talk from Jo Cook, who wrote for Amstrad Action, and an interview with Roland Perry, giving a proper bit of first-hand Amstrad history.

This isn’t a full event film. It’s more of a short report from the day, and a nudge to keep an eye out for the next one if Amstrad CPCs, PCWs, GX4000s and the surrounding oddness are your sort of thing.

Thanks to everyone at UKAG for putting the event on, and to everyone who stopped for a chat.
