On this Rolex unboxing video, we unbox the new Ceramic Daytona 116500LN in stainless steel.

The Rolex Ceramic Daytona 116500LN is a much anticipated revamp of the stainless steel Daytona. It was announced by Rolex at Baselworld 2016.

For a long time, I have been saying that the Daytona needed a makeover. I knew that Rolex was not going to touch the watch's 40-millimeter diameter and make it bigger, since Daytona's enjoy a huge demand as is, but adding a ceramic or Cerachrom bezel to the watch was a step in that direction by the Swiss watchmaker. The new model with the black, ceramic bezel was just what the stainless Daytona needed!

During the Daytona unboxing video, once you get the first glimpse of the ceramic bezel, you'll notice that it gives you the impression that the watch is a bit bigger than before. Even though it's an optical illusion, as the ceramic Daytona is the same size as the older models, the Cerachrom bezel does the size trick!

One of the things I really enjoy about the new ceramic Daytona is that it resembles the older vintage models that made the Rolex model popular. Adding that touch of vintage to the watch was a successful move by Rolex.

Even though I love the look of the new Ceramic Daytona, it is the price I don't like.

The retail price of the Daytona Ceramic is $12,000, but due to the sky-high demand since the watch was released, you'll find the models selling from $16,000 to as high as $18,000; yes, way above retail!

This is similar to what you see with the GMT Batman, but to a much crazier level, given the fact that the Rolex Daytona 116500LN was released this year!

In conclusion, while I love the new ceramic bezel on the stainless Daytona and the watch looks stunning, I wouldn't buy it myself at these lofty prices.
