First Edition of the UTMB Kackar | 48km - 2700m +/-

Come along for another mountain adventure, this time in Turkey’s Kaçkar Mountains for the UTMB Kaçkar 50K 🇹🇷

Just a week before the race, severe flooding hit the region, damaging roads and putting the entire event at risk. In the end, the organisers managed to adapt the course and keep the 50K going. Dropping down from the 100km I signed up for.

Out on the course, conditions were constantly changing. Cold early on, then rain, deep mud underfoot, and even snow at higher elevation.

The route cuts through waterfalls, remote valleys, and rugged mountain terrain, with local support and well-stocked aid stations keeping things moving.

Nine hours on the trails. Tough conditions, but a solid day out.
