Jigra (transl. Courage) is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Vasan Bala, who also co-wrote it with Debashish Irengbam. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Soumen Mishra under Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, it stars Alia Bhatt as a troubled young woman who must rescue her brother (played by Vedang Raina) from prison

Satya, orphaned at a young age, becomes the sole caretaker of her younger brother, Ankur. After receiving sanctuary from distant relatives, the Mehtanis, Satya also starts working for their family to provide for Ankur.
When Ankur gets the opportunity to pitch a tech idea to an investor, he is forced to partner with Mehtani's son, Kabir. A business trip takes an unfortunate turn when the boys are caught with drugs, and Ankur takes the fall for Kabir.
Satya fights tirelessly to save her brother, teaming up with Bhatia, a retired gangster, and Muthu, an ex-cop who regrets a wrongful conviction, to hatch a plan to break their boys out of prison.
What follows is a clash of moralities, driven by Satya's relentless determination to rescue her brother.

The film was announced in September 2023.[5] Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina were cast as the leads.[6] In November 2023, Aditya Nanda and Sobhita Dhulipala joined the cast of the film.[7][8]
According to actor Bijou Thaangjam, he was cast for a role by the fim producers but was dropped without notice; which he attributed to racism towards people from northeast India.[9]
Filming

Principal photography commenced by October 2023.[10] The film was mainly shot in Mumbai,[11] Thailand and Singapore[12] before wrapping in February 2024.[13] These locations were chosen to portray the fictional country of Hanshi Dao in the film (which loosely resembles Singapore).[14]
