Premanand Ji Maharaj, also known as Shri Hit Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, is a revered Indian Hindu spiritual guru belonging to the Radhavallabh sect. Born on March 30, 1969, as Aniruddh Kumar Pandey in Akhri village, Sarsaul Block, near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he hails from a deeply devotional Brahmin family. His parents, Rama Devi and Shambhu Pandey, fostered a pious environment, with his grandfather and later his father embracing sannyasa (asceticism). This spiritual upbringing profoundly influenced him from a young age.

At 13, driven by existential questions about life’s purpose, he left home to pursue a spiritual path. Initially named Anandswaroop Brahmachari after taking vows of celibacy, he later accepted sannyasa and was renamed Swami Anandashram. His early years as a seeker were spent on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi, living a life of renunciation. His journey took a transformative turn in Vrindavan when, while meditating under a peepal tree, a saint urged him to witness Raas Leela. This experience deepened his devotion to Radha Krishna, leading him to settle in Vrindavan, where he now resides at Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj ashram.

Premanand Ji Maharaj is celebrated for his teachings on bhakti (devotion), emphasizing the importance of a guru, celibacy, and spiritual purity. He advocates a simple, inclusive approach to spirituality, rejecting hierarchical ashram life and societal divisions. His satsangs (spiritual discourses) and one-on-one conversations, known as Ekantik Vartalaap, attract millions globally, amplified by his strong social media presence under the name "Bhajan Marg." Despite health challenges, including kidney issues requiring dialysis, he continues to inspire with his humility and dedication.

His influence extends beyond followers to notable figures like Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana, who have visited him. While widely respected, he has faced minor controversies, such as a 2024 disagreement with KathaVachak Pradeep Mishra over Radha Rani’s birthplace, which was resolved with an apology from Mishra. Premanand Ji Maharaj remains a beacon of spiritual guidance, blending traditional wisdom with a relatable, compassionate demeanor.
