After 5+ weeks in Mérida, we have fallen in love with this city.
Choosing to leave the US to live as expats in Mexico for the indefinite future was an amazing choice for us and has led to some amazing experiences. Check out what we love about Merida and what you should see, do, and eat whether you're moving here or just taking a trip.

Our trip so far:

At the end of December of last year, we flew into Cancun and spent a couple of days there. We then moved to the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula in a small city of 50,000 people called Valladolid.
After 5 weeks there, we moved to Yucatan's largest city and capital, Merida, where we've been ever since. There are so many amazing things to do not only in this state but also in the whole peninsula!
So far the day/weekend trips we've taken include Tulum, Progreso, Izamal, Celestun, Homun, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, and Campeche! Check out the videos we've made from these destinations and stay tuned and subscribe for more!

In this video, we visited our favorite market in Merida where we tried tortas for the first time thanks to a new friend. We also go to a street modeled after one in Paris, North Merida's booming mall and restaurant scene, the beautiful city center for the light show, lively Mercado 60 for dancing, and more!
