Oil Pulling for 35 Days: Did It Cure Gum Disease? Microscope Analysis🔬

Does oil pulling actually work? We decided to do a 35 day coconut oil experiment to see!

Much to my disbelief, I found that I had a very mild form of gum disease known as gingivitis. We found out last month when Dr Nemeth decided to take a sample from underneath my gum tissue to see what kind of bacteria were living in my mouth.

He told me I needed to have laser gum surgery to treat my gum disease. However, I wanted to try and treat gum disease naturally with oil pulling. After all, we have the microscope in the office. What a great opportunity to be able to measure the results of 35 days of oil pulling.

I would take coconut oil and swish it in my mouth for 20 minutes, every day for 35 days. Total... thats 11 hours of my life, wasted on oil pulling.

After the 35 days were up, I was anxious to see if there was any reduction or elimination of bacteria in my mouth. I felt that there was a few less spirochetes than there were when we started, but any spirochetes at all means that I was still infected, and the bacteria was not eliminated.

In short, we found through this experiment that oil pulling does not cure gum disease.
It may whiten the teeth, it may help with cavities, it may get rid of bad breath, and it may even make your mouth healthier because you are rinsing away plaque, but coconut oil pulling did not kill the bacteria that cause gum disease.
