2020 11 17 Waiting for SN8 and a Look Back in Time - SpaceX Starship Boca Chica

John Davis visited Ray and I for a week in hopes of seeing the SN8 flight from the hard checkpoint. We did witness the SN8 static fire with the pre-burner issues and the molten metal. Check out John's edit on 2020_11_12 if you haven't seen it already.

Without a 50,000' flight to entertain us, John scoured my file footage and hope you enjoy a walk down memory lane living within the SpaceX development in the early years. This is just the tip of the iceberg of my documentation and in this lull John created this look back in time. He also did some fishing, and we look forward to his return for more fishing and the flight of the SN8 very soon. I don't know when the flight is so please don't ask.

You will see in this video that I knew early on that my view (and yours) was going to be different forever and just took pictures of everything. It was a responsibility to document SpaceX progress before we had to move and I thought that was the end of BocaChica Maria. Thankfully as we sold, SpaceX asked me to continue documenting with perks because we cooperated with the buyout. I was keeping something familiar and being a SpaceX influencer.

John found simple shots I filled the internet with early on, I was never groomed or told what to film. It was my earliest vision that others watched and started documenting, which told us I was doing something important. Years later many news crews and independent photographers were allowed to use our yard for restricted vantage points for filming. It was important to the Pointer's to bring the message to the LRGV and the schools to see what we were seeing. We hosted the Lab Padre camera live stream to bring this message to the Valley. Most importantly I filmed to document our last days in a sanctuary that has disappeared as we knew it, and replaced by a future that one could only imagine until now.

I'm Maria Pointer, not a villager, I hid behind the lens and a BocaChica name because in those days it was a bad thing to support SpaceX progress with some locals and friends in the village. I really hope you enjoy these beginning years and stay with me on this journey bringing SpaceX to the world. Now I can say I'm proud to be a SpaceX influencer and here are my memories in the wait for the flight of the SN8.
