Shaving tips for sensitive skin: how to get an irritation free shave

Matt here with another vintage straight razor shave. For today’s Daily Shave video, I will talk about sensitive skin, and how to get an irritation free shave.

The Razor: Vintage 1950’s Kinfolks Blue Steel Special. 5/8 hollow ground, spike point.

The Soap and aftershave:
Wholly Kaw Fern Concerto with menthol (donkey milk base). This is a classic citrus cologne type scent with a nice dose of menthol. Wholly Kaw is great sensitive skin. The scents are not usually overly strong and the soap base is a top performer. The matching aftershave is the alcohol free toner: loaded with skin food, and without the irritation and burn of an alcohol based aftershave.

The Brush:
West Coast Shaving Ancient Stone collection synthetic 25mm. This black fan knot is the softest one I have tried of this type, but still retains some springy backbone due to the density. If you want an irritation free shave, try using a very soft knot like this one.

The Bowl: Pereira Shaving Bowl. This unbreakable composite bowl has high sides, flat bottom and pronounced ridges for ease of building a lather.
