When James Gunn was named as the director of The Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. kept it unclear if the film would be a reboot or a sequel to David Ayer's chapter in the DC Extended Universe. It
turns out to be a sequel, with many of the cast members returning and Task Force X already in place. The action, comedy and drama are similar to those of Ayer's 2016 picture. So, let’s compare them.
