Sherwood Pines 'Full' Kitchener Trail Sept 2020

The full Kitchener Trail as of Sept 2020, with a bit of commentary for entertainment.
The Kitchener is graded 'red' which means it's the most challenging of the official trails at Sherwood Pines Forest Park.
You can expect singletrack, doubletrack, roots, rocks, drops, jumps, berms and rollers on a typical 'red' graded trail and the Kitchener has them all. All the features are rollable i.e your wheels shouldn't need to leave the ground, but it's more fun if they do!

The trail is around 8.5 miles long and climbs around 600ft, so it's pretty flat and there's a lot of pedalling. It's fab for fitness and the trail is more rewarding and engaging the quicker you go.

It's not an intimidating trail and there are plenty of folk who'll say it's not a proper 'red' trail, everyone has their opinion so let them have a rant.

I've ridden trail centres and bike parks in England, Scotland, Wales and raced all over the UK, I live next door to the centre, it's all I have locally so I make the most of it that I can. The centre has played a major role in getting me fit and staying fit. It's helped me get from 17 stone down to 13 (ish), keeps me fit enough to race in 6, 7, 8, 12 and 24 hour XC races, keeps my skills topped up for Enduro and Downhill events and provides a place where me and my mates can have a swift couple of hours riding after work and a bit of banter. It's what you make of it that matters.
