How to Use Lead Magnets to Grow Your Email List
Content marketing is powerful in so many ways.
It builds awareness, credibility and trust.
But does it generate demand? Does drive leads, as in marketing qualified leads?
Not necessarily. At least not directly.
Visitors who start their visit on a blog post just aren’t likely to click over to your products and services and become a lead. But they are actually quite likely to subscribe.
If the content is good enough, they’ll happily share their email address and subscribe to get more.
But it’s tough to get people to share an address.
This is where the lead magnet comes in.
It’s also sometimes called a content upgrade, a freebie, an ethical bribe or an opt-in incentive. It’s basically a little nudge. An offer of something relevant, something helpful, something really good.
They share their address and you give them the good stuff.
Here we are breaking down the best (and not so good) practices for lead magnets.
🔹 What offers work best (according to research)
🔹 How to create a better call to action
🔹 How to construct the form
A lead magnet makes them far more likely to share the address ...or does it?
At the end of this video, we’ll address the “Gate or No Gate” debate, and share one case study where a marketing team actually grew their list much faster by removing the gates, putting the so-called “lead magnets” out there for everyone, no email address required.
