Covering it with a paper napkin before opening will block what little escapes.

As for drinking it without resealing the bottle accidentally just make sure the two dimples are facing the ground so the marble catches behind the bumps. If it happens to reseal despite your best efforts just use the opener or even your finger to push the marble back into the bottle. It's much easier the second time around.
