In this week’s episode, we discuss camera upgrades and whether or not you should upgrade yours. Whether you're a professional photographer, a hobbyist, or someone who likes to take photos on the weekends, one of the largest purchasing decisions you can make in photography is upgrading your camera. It's easy to get caught up in the glitz and glamour of the latest and greatest version of your current camera, but does it always make the most financial sense to upgrade - that's the question.

In this video, I discuss the rational behind my decision to upgrade or not to upgrade my four plus year old Sony a7rii. When the a7riv was announced I, like most people, was super impressed! The list of incredible specs on the latest and greatest R series camera from Sony is impressive and will certainly perform better in every aspect as compared to my current Sony a7rii. But, does it make financial sense for me to upgrade my camera?

It's easy to fall into the always rotating cycle of camera upgrades, but will the perceived increase in camera quality actually translate into better photographs, enable you to sell more prints, or make you a better photographer in general? When you look at your next camera upgrade buying decision with this mindset you might be surprised as to the direction that this thought track takes you.
