Purchase PAC presents National Ballet of China

Their program will include pas de deux from "Don Quixote" and "Giselle", and works that encapsulate the Chinese spirit and experience, including the contemporary works "Gungling Verse" and "Close Your Eyes When It Is Getting Dark," as well as selections from two of their signature ballets: "Yellow River" and "The Red Detachment of Women."

"The Red Detachment of Women" dominated the stage during the Cultural Revolution and is a cornerstone of modern Chinese culture.
