Poirot's David Suchet

Earlier this month, the final season of ITV's long-running Agatha Christie's Poirot debuted in the U.K. with 4.5 million viewers, making it the night's top non-sports program. The series has been on the air since 1989 with veteran British actor David Suchet in the title role. By the time Poirot ends its run, every major work by Christie featuring the Belgian detective will have been adapted for television. Before filming the last chapters in this veteran franchise—which ITV Studios Global Entertainment has licensed into every territory in the world—Suchet met with World Screen to discuss Poirot's enduring appeal, the art of fine-tuning the character's distinctive accent and his own fondness for British period drama.
