How to use #JMeter for #LoadTesting | #PerformanceTesting using JMeter | | Sandeep Garg | #loadtest
Session Title:
How to use JMeter for Load Testing
Key Takeaways:
- How to reasonably understand and explain realistic load testing
- How to start using Apache JMeter TM capabilities sensibly
- How to interpret and communicate the information to the risk managers
Abstract:
In my limited but learning hands-on experience, I have load-tested web applications using Apache JMeter TM. Unfortunately, I sometimes fell into the trap of using this popular and helpful tool without building sufficient awareness about the architecture, load testing, users, and stakeholders' expectations. As you can probably imagine, resultant load testing efforts eventually sucked energy, consumed more time, delayed testing cycles, and caused late information to the stakeholders.
This 7,200,000 milliseconds-long hands-on virtual meetup would try to answer some questions I should have asked when I started my journey into load testing.
- Why is load testing a web application necessary?
- Who are the people who matter and care?
- What does it mean by realistic load test design?
- Where are some traps, and can we avoid those?
- When should the load testing life cycle begin?
- How to use Apache JMeter TM capabilities sensibly and reach our testing goals?
#automationtesting #softwaretesting #testautomation
Audience:
Web application testers who are -
- Desiring to kick off a journey to become a web app load tester.
- Upskilling themselves in the load testing of web apps using JMeter.
Two ideas drive this meetup…
"Tools don't test. Only people test. Tools perform actions that help people test" — James Bach, on a context-driven approach to the entire testing work culture.
Also, "A good workman should be known by his reasonable selection and application of the tools." - Anonymous.
About Speaker:
Sandeep Garg works with Bridgetree as a Principal QA Architect. He continually improves himself and teams around self-awareness, empathy, integrity, courage, systems, context, domain understanding, communication, and culture. He successfully led CMMi and agile (Agile) transformations for product companies like Fiserv and FIS in a senior test lead role while actively contributing to different PMO initiatives. In addition, Sandeep formed testing teams from scratch and set up production support and UAT teams.
Certified from institutions like QAI, ATA, and ISTQB, the context-driven testing paradigm greatly influenced how he sees himself learning and performing software testing. Sandeep is highly teachable and coachable. He loves to connect with people with an open mind and open heart.
