1948 TUCKER TORPEDO - The car that SHOULD have conquered all!

In the 1940s, Preston Tucker dreamed the impossible dream, to build his own car, a car that was above all else, and capable of taking on the existing giants of Detroit at their own game. Tucker Corporation got ever so close to mass-producing what would have been the most innovation family sedan of its time with the 48 Tucker, only to be unfairly challenged in the courts by others claiming fraud and all sorts of allegations. Perhaps driven by entities in the background that didn't want to see the car succeed? We'll never know. What we do know is that Preston Tucker succeeded in the courts but it was too late, and although he'd built 50 prototypes to prove that it was the real deal, the company name was tarnished beyond repair by all the unsubstantiated negative press.
