Boil Milk, Make Kheer, and Watch Miracles Happen – Sharad Purnima Secrets | Sharad Purnima 2025

🌕 What is Sharad Purnima?
Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojagiri Purnima, Raas Purnima, or Kumar Purnima, marks the full moon night in the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin (around September–October). It is believed that on this night, the Moon is at its fullest and brightest, and its rays possess special healing and nourishing properties.

🍚 Traditions and Rituals
Kheer (sweet rice pudding) is prepared and kept under moonlight overnight in silver utensils, absorbing the cool rays. Devotees believe this makes it highly nourishing and purifying.
People stay awake all night, singing bhajans, chanting mantras, and engaging in Lakshmi puja.
In Bengal and Odisha, Kumar Purnima is celebrated by unmarried girls praying for an ideal husband, worshipping the moon and Lord Kartikeya.

In Maharashtra and Gujarat, Kojagiri Lakshmi Puja is observed by night-long vigil and celebration.
