"I wish I could see people living in their homes. It is all tents. All the streets are full of tents. All the people have been displaced. Who has not been displaced yet? In the south, people are being displaced and in the north, people are being displaced. No one is left. All the people are out in the streets - it is all tents, tents. Wherever you go, there is a tent here and there. People are crowded together, they hear others (through the tents) and the families are fighting because of the pressure of the tents (being close to one another). You can see, there is no distance between one tent and the other."

STORYLINE:
Thousands of people fled to Gaza City following Israel's recent attacks and many of them now live in overcrowded tents.
One of those who fled is Mitaa Salman who was besieged with her family in Beit Lahiya near Gaza City for three days before they were able to leave.
They are now staying in an area crowded with tents in Gaza City.
"There is no running water, no food, no drinking water. There is no decent shelter," Salman said.
This comes after embattled enclave has seen 19 months of war and Israel’s punishing blockade.
For more than two months, Israel has banned all food, medicine and other goods from entering the territory that is home to some 2 million Palestinians, as it carries out waves of airstrikes and ground operations.
Even the United States, a staunch ally, has voiced concerns over the hunger crisis.
The U.N. says aid has been collected from only about 90 trucks — out of a total of nearly 200 that have entered Gaza since Israel ended its nearly three-month blockade this week.
Palestinians in Gaza rely almost entirely on outside aid to survive because Israel’s offensive has destroyed almost all the territory’s food production capabilities.
The majority of Gaza's residents have been displaced more than once during the conflict that started 19 months ago.
