What if one of the most powerful climate solutions is hiding in our dirtiest water? An innovative entrepreneur examines how industrial wastewater from mines, refineries, power plants, and more holds vast stores of critical minerals and rare earth elements that we need for renewable energy. Instead of polluting our air and draining our freshwater, new technologies can extract these minerals, reclaiming wastewater to accelerate the clean-energy transition. It’s a vision for a future where the industries that once caused pollution become essential partners in solving the climate crisis. Lacey is passionate about finding solutions that improve human-environmental interactions and increase clean water access for vulnerable communities. Lacey serves as the Founder and CEO of Olokun Minerals focused on recovering critical minerals and valuable materials as well as clean water from wastewater streams. Lacey has a degree in mathematics from Spelman College and a degree in civil engineering with a concentration in water resources and environmental engineering from Columbia University in New York.
