1969 Corvette

In this episode we speak we Andy a mad keen American Muscle car owner with his 1969 Black and White ZL1 Corvette.

Andy purchased this vehicle during a trip to the US where he found this car in Burbank California. It presented as a plain white L36 427, 390 horsepower up on stands. The engine and transmission were removed so Andy asked the owner if he bought the car, could the owner fix it up for him. He agreed and then Andy brought it back home.

Not content with just owning a L36, Andy then completed total nut and bolt restoration which included changing the engine to a 540cubic inch- 8.8 litre “monster from hell”.

The car is set up predominately for circuit racing as well as a very comfortable street car, with modifications including triangulation of the chassis, thickened stabilizer bars and engine modifications.

In 1969 there were only 2 x ZL1 Corvettes manufactured, they were designed purely for racing, so Andy has made his car a tribute car to the white version ZL1 with the black stripe, only swapping the colour configuration.

Hope you enjoyed watching Andy smoke up the circuit and don’t forget to stayed tuned for more upcoming Small Torque episodes.
