India bans Chinese-owned apps, including Tiktok, after border clashes

The Indian government has banned 59 Chinese-owned apps over cybersecurity concerns, including the likes of TikTok and WeChat. This move could have a major impact on the video-sharing platform owned by Bytedance, as India is one of its biggest markets. The company has denied accusations that it shares user data with the Chinese government. Tensions have been high between Beijing and New Delhi after recent violent clashes along their border in the Himalayas.
