Cats Subtle Art Of Communication

Our cats Mella & Maia are very good at nonverbal (or should I say nonmeowing) communication.

When I'm at my laptop they both come sit near me and stare a bit. Every move I make they'll give me a look... is it time now? Mella is always at the front of the laptop blocking the keyboard and Maia is behind it watching me from a distance.

Cats are subtle and complicated in their communication. When it comes to let you know they're hungry, they are usually not so subtle and just meow. Sometimes however Mella & Maia are using this approach.

I love to make eye contact with them and give them a slow blink and I try to explain that dinner time is not far away.

Today I just gave them a few heart shaped cat treats since it's Valentine's Day and then they went birdwatching a bit.
