Writing Copperplate

We all focus on the letters but how often do we focus on writing a block of continuous text.

This allows us to practise letter size and spacing. It requires you to really know your letters. Not only what the look like, how to write them, but also the amount of space the pick up.

The other thing this forces you to reconcile is your control over the tool. Can you accurately make the same widths so all the hairlines are the same and the thickest parts are the same.

This is also an exercise in breathing and not holding your breath.

Go back and rule up the sheet to see what is not on the 55 or where they are not touching the horizontals.

Be brutal with your correcting. Every little thing will add up so make sure you get all of the mistakes. List them and work them through.
