This dance has been one of the most challenging and memorable I have ever done. The music is a spoken word poem by Shane Koyczan. Due to time limits for performances, it had to be cut.
The message to end bullying, and violence in school is something I truly believe everyone should hear. Many kids today go through physical bullying, teasing, name calling, and even cyber bullying. They need to know they are not alone. There is help all around them, and I am willing to fight for a stop to this. So next time you witness the bullying or are about to become the bully, be the bigger person, be the helping hand, and always have a kind positive attitude to make this world a better place.
This performance is truly more than just another solo to me. I have found another side of myself, one that is more true, raw, and real.
I hope I have done justice to Shane Koyczan's work.
