Things to do in Tokyo on a Budget | Tokyo Travel Guide

Throughout my trip in Tokyo, Japan I've eaten at so many various places and visited quite a few touristy areas! I know Tokyo can be very expensive and you can easily spend a nice fortune here. So it may be a bit hard to find some things that are cheap or find free things to do in Tokyo. In today's video I put together a list of places that are budget friendly and some of them are free to visit in Tokyo I enjoyed and seemed worthwhile to visit if you are in the those areas. Many these places are very scenic or offer you a nice view of the city. These places are not ranked in any particular order.

» #1 Rikugien Gardens - Located in Bunkyo - https://www.city.bunkyo.lg.jp/bunka/kanko/spot/teien/rikugien.ht

- Notes: Beautiful garden with a illumination event in March, November and December. Cost around 300 yen for adults to enter.

» #2 Carreta Shiodome - Located in Minato - http://www.caretta.jp/foreign/index

- Notes: Check out the free Sky View on the 46th floor and the elevator view. Also in the winter check out their illunimation events.

» #3 Shibuya Crossing - Located in Shibuya

- Notes: If you need a higher view of Shibuya Crossing try to visit some of the cafe or restaurants nearby like Starbucks.

» #4 Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harujuku - Located in Shibuya - https://omohara.tokyu-plaza.com/en/

- Notes: They have a rooftop that is free for you to visit, it has a nice view of the surrounding area. Also there is a illumination event in the winter.

» #5 Meiji Jingu - Located in Shibuya - http://www.meijijingu.or.jp/

- Notes: Beautiful shrine with a nice scenic forest to walk through. It is also nearby Yoyogi Park which is pretty huge. There are events here held throughout the year.

» #6 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Located in Shinjuku - http://www.metro.tokyo.jp/english/index.html

- Notes: There are two free observation decks that you can visit that are really high. The wait may be a bit long, but its worth it.

» #7 Tokyo Solamachi 8th Floor Dome Garden - Located in Sumida - http://www.tokyo-solamachi.jp/

- Notes: There's a rooftop on the 8th Floor called the Garden Dome which is free to visit.

» #8 Asakusa - Located in Asakusa

- Notes: There's a lot of things that you can do in Asakusa, tons of historical sights, street food to try, and also festivals that are held here from time to time.
