Mother pleads for justice after daughter's murder

An emotionally shattered mother from Midrand in Johannesburg, has pleaded for the criminal justice system not to fail her daughter.

Twenty-two-year-old, Minenhle Mjali, was found murdered in a house in Midrand last month after she had been missing for days.

She was allegedly sexually assaulted, held captive, tortured, and eventually killed.

Four men have since been arrested for the brutal act and one of them has since turned state witness.

Police arrested the suspects after a foul smell was detected at a house where the men had allegedly wrapped Mjali's lifeless body in plastic bags for several days.

Activists held a picket in Midrand where they joined Mjali's heartbroken mother, calling for swift justice.
