Lake Ontario Foodie Road Trip: Back Alley Grill

About six months ago, I got a DM from a chef named Kim, telling me I needed to make the trip to Sodus Point to try her food. I added it to my ever-growing list of places I’ll get to “someday” and promptly forgot about it.
Last week, she popped up in the comments of one of my TikTok posts, giving me a nudge—“When are you coming?” Funny enough, we were planning a Lake Ontario Foodie Road Trip, and our route would take us through Sodus Point. Even better, Chef Kim decided to open up on a day she’s usually closed, just for us. Now that’s hospitality.
This place? It’s the definition of a hidden gem. I’m talking about a food trailer, wedged between a lodge that doubles as a bar and restaurant, and a real estate office with a side of apartments. And no, you don’t just stroll up and order food like it’s a hot dog stand. You’ve got to text her the morning of the day you want to eat, and she’s only open Thursday to Sunday. Yeah, you read that right.
Here’s the deal: Back Alley Grill is a must. Chef Kim is closing up shop for the season in November, so if you’re reading this, get there before it’s too late.
I’ve recommended a lot of places over the years. But this? This is the one. Don’t care how far away you are—find a way to get to Back Alley Grill. Trust me.

This Lake Ontario Foodie Road Trip wouldn’t be possible without my friends at AAA WCNY.
