Britney Spears to address court directly over conservatorship battle

Britney Spears could soon be appearing in court over her conservatorship battles after her attorney told the judge she was seeking to address the court directly on June 23.

The 39-year-old singer has been in a public legal battle with her father over her conservatorship as she seeks to gain back control of her $60 million estate.

Her father Jamie Spears has had control of her assets, health and medical decisions since 2008.

Fans around the world rallied around Britney after The New York Times released a documentary called ‘Framing Britney Spears’ which showed the singer’s very controlled life.

The hashtag #freebritney began circulating social media to rally around the star.
