Brian MacMahon Jazz Roots Part 1

We couldn't celebrate 25 years of great music without looking back and acknowledging our roots: from humble beginnings involving regular jam sessions in the basement of a local hotel, to a vibrant and active jazz society in an enviable heritage venue. All along the way the goal has been making great music available for the Vernon community. To celebrate this journey, we turned the stage over to our former artistic director and beloved musician, Brian McMahon. This musical experience felt a lot like a family reunion – Brian gathered some of the Okanagan Valley’s musical celebrities who have played on our stage. Three sets of music magic.

The first set was lead by Brian MacMahon on bass with Neville Bowman on keyboard, Craig Thomson on sax and Scott Gamble on drums. This stellar group of musicians explored original tunes by Craig Thomson as well as Jazz Standards. Guest vocalist Karen Wiseman joined in for a heartfelt - "I'll be seeing you"...
